Originally from Cape Town, I moved to Vredendal in 2019 to complete my community service year. I accepted a job opportunity in private practice in Mossel Bay and, since, have been treating patients with a wide variety of conditions as well as working in a specialised rehabilitation hospital in George.
Physiotherapists assess, treat and manage a wide variety of injuries including ailments from the fields of orthopaedics (post hip and knee replacements etc), neurology (strokes, Parkinsons etc) and nerve-related problems, respiratory/chest physiotherapy, musculoskeletal and osteoarthritis management, women’s health, sports injuries, paediatric physiotherapy and general rehabilitation.
I pride myself in being a manual physiotherapist, focusing on alignment and mobilisation of joints. I make use of muscle activation procedures to get joints to move in the desired manner. My goal is always to equip patients to take charge of their own rehabilitation process. Another aim is always to adopt a holistical bio-psycho-social approach when treating patients.
